Mort's wishlist realized?

Mort's wishlist realized?

2009-02-04 by (i think you can figure that out)

In Gino video interview with Mort, he mentions a need for a device he
was unaware existed which could convert vocal information to data for
controlling digital instruments in realtime.

Just sent Mort a note explaining the A. Sys RS35/RS300 pair, which I
belive will do exactly what he's after.

Let's see if he bites ...

First we get him on this, then slooooowly we slip in a M15 or two, a
Model 13, a Model 10, a Model 11, a Model 24 and who knows...maybe
someday we'll be hearing Silver Apples of Mars.

Great idea Peter! He's an artist who will fully appreciate and enjoy how PB is beyond the past -

Yup or the external signal proccessor section of a used Korg MS-20 if
he wants to stay analog, I had an rs-35 and sold it after I got the
ms-20 as to me it seems to work better .

Hello Carlos,

I tried to ask this on the Analogue Systems list.. but no answer.
Is the rs-35 Freq-V V-output outputing a Bi-Polar signal?
From what I understood from the manual it can range between -10v and +6v.
Or is this not so?

Greetings,

Ernst

but to stay analog you have to record this as dc to tape, and this today is not very pratical...
he explicity talks about recording the "gestures" and developing a sound afterwards on buchla...
maybe he was talking about the resolution of this conversion, after when talks about yamaha wind products... so is it midi resolution that he didnt like? 7 bit!
i think the rs300 can rec a controller like a pitch bend, going from 128 steps to 4096, but something like volta or a max/msp/puredata patch with the right non-dc blocked interface can get better resolutions...
or a modcan cv recorder... but what about a tyme sefari (8bit) with a model 32? do you think it can do it cheaper and without involving midi?

Or you can record the voice gestures to different wav files and then
run them in real time as needed to the pitch to cv converter no ?

My RS-35 seems to go about -4.2 volts to to about +2.5 volts according
to my A-197.
