Expression from the oddest places?

Expression from the oddest places?

2008-12-21 by (i think you can figure that out)

Nonsense!

A student posed a question about the difficulty they're having with
breathing life into patches. A made this video to demonstrate that
it's actually easier than they thought. A short snip showing the
expression that can be generated on non-traditional linear
controllers, in this case the Doepfer A-198 ribbon used to control the
presence of the sound event, the speed of the LFO pacing it, it's
spacial location and it's pitch.

Pardon the quality of...well, everything. This was shot using the
camera and mic on my Imac! The sound events you're hearing here will be part of The Secret Life of Semiconductors (Part 3 specifically) one of these days once it's released (course...got to finish the damn thing first)

enjoy (or not!),

I wish i could hear that live, i know we're missing out on the low
end. and the high end. and some of the middle too. Great to see the
master in action. Wish i could build my own instruments of this
caliber! :D

I know there would be a line for that cabinet...especially if it had a
built in ribbon controller and maybe a slight ledge for the hand to
rest on. drool. If it folded up it would be a dreamcase. Mmmm, the
PlanB DreamCase Model 100 with specially sedigned bus yum. One can
dream...

We're showing cases in the early part of 2009.

Nuff said, please don't pillage Noisebug with questions. As always,
news is posted here first.

Sign me up for one of those cases! I just hope they come out in a reasonable amount of time and not a year after the first viewing...
