ELF's with POTs --> listen up!

ELF's with POTs --> listen up!

2008-04-29 by (i think you can figure that out)

Just got the eval units in, have done tests, I am happy...

But...please know that due to what I call the 'iceberg' effect (size f
the mechanism under the faceplate) the pots used for the ELF modules
will all have plastic shafts.

[dead silence fills the room]

They are close to the type Blacet uses, but not Panasonic. Their
shatfs are only 16mm long. They are not the type that the Buchla 200e
uses, in which the shafts are considerably longer. I've tested these,
I've mounted them, placed knobs on them, mounted the faceplates in a
system and experienced the lateral movement (wiggle), and there is
none. You won't notice the difference outside of the fact that these
turn much smoother than the metal Alpha's.

[room EXPLODES in APPLAUSE]

Thank You! Thank you!

BUt i did want to disclose this with you all first. Again, I am not
doing this because I am displeased with the APlphas, I'm doing this
because the diameter of the Alpha pots will not allow four to be
placed in a row. I realize that only one of the Elfs have four
pots...but two pots with the number of jacks required has the same net
effect.

SO there...

I suppose you're going to try and tell us that your PCBs are made of glass
fiber or some kinda plastic too, huh?

[more dead silence fills the room]
