PLAN B SYNTHESIZERS MOVES TO NEW HOME AND NEW US DEALER

(POMONA, CA) We are pleased to announce that effective April 2 PLAN B
begins it's move from Toluca Lake to take permanent residency in the
loft of the NOISEBUG complex in Pomona, CA. - formerly the home of
Analogue Haven. Along with this we are equally excited that NOISEBUG
has become our new exclusive U.S. dealer with shipments beginning in
approximately two weeks. We wish to thank Shawn Cleary and Chuck Oken
of Analogue Haven for two years of excellent representation and
service to the Plan B line.

In the next few weeks there will announcements from Electro-Acoustic
Research on the release of the Models 16, 21, 21C, 23 and the new
Models 30, 30A, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 38A, 39 and 40 along
with three different chassis as we shift focus from modules only to
full systems.

Shipment of Plan B products to our dealers will commence on April 10.
We appreciate your patience during this interim period as we set up
operations.

We look forward to the challenges which lay before and thank our
customers for making it happen.

Peter:
Congratulations! Still do not see model 18. Where does it stand in the production line? There are few choices for an output mixer: Cwejman - yeah, over $700, and still lacking the intelligence of your current 18 design. (4) 134's and (2) 138's still lack amplitude control and are nearly 50 hp.
I have been ready to buy the 18 from it's introduction as a design in 2006. Is there no demand for this module?
Peter, your comments and other's would be greatly appreciated. This is a critical element in a system -
Thanks, Bill

I think many people are using Mackie 1204 or Behringer equiv.

The Plan B Mixer concept is cool, esp. when the expanders are taken into consideration.
HOWEVER, with case real estate being so precious, it seems most people go for the mackie and pack their euro-rack full of Model 15s, VCS, Daleks etc...

Model 18

2008-04-01 by Eyesaw

Tony:
OK, so that explains the 18's delay fairly well. It is apparent from current design the 18 needs an (8) chnl attenuator expander. The other original module (Headphone amp, etc.) has been nicely incorporated into current design.
I have been retrofiting Halliburton cases following Peter's N.I.N. project and have been attempting to make these systems intact with no outboard gear.
Thanks for the comment Tony, anyone else? Peter? Does anyone want this module besides me?

yes, right

The Plan B Mixer concept is cool, esp. when the expanders are taken
into consideration.

I was sending note here before,
now there is not real mixer for modular, no advanced stereo output
which makes most of patches very complicated to have it really stereo
especialy life this is pain in the ass

why there is not such modules as StereoSpace of Cynthia
which makes this all modules more useable and really outstanding
hopefully Plan B one day will release something like that
(Livewire is planing module which seems to be working
very well with stereo but pairing only with their AFG)

thanks

Bill, I too share your desire to have an instrument that is all in one case (no outboard gear). But you have to admit that the $99 price tag on the typical 6 channel mixer (with mic pres, effect loop, headphone amp) makes it hard to beat.

Until the 18 is out, Cwejman has the only Stereo 4 Channel Eurorack
Mixer, the MX-4S. Has attenuation for everything but expensive.

which is just totally insane! why spend all that money on an
amazing sounding synth(s) then run
it/them through such ugly garbage? i know, it's a sad market
place in the 'small mixer' dept, but...

ugh

rack up old soundcraft modules or something

I think this is more of a function case, I don't know, I kinda doubt it, but
it'll fit in your e-rack.... it's still not a serious mixer but a nice
utility from what i gather?

yeah, better.

remember, ours have four VC level and VC pan pots with the headphone
pre and the level meter. so it's more than just a mixer.

For the record, I am not putting the Model 18 at the end of the rope
becaue there's no demand for it. I'm doing it because we have other
functions which are more critical for system-level products which need
to come first. It's cool if we have an output subsystem. But LFOs
need to be there first.

It'll all happen in due time.

Note how he says "LFOs" plural.
So, it's a dual then?
Hope they have a reset.
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

cool! didn't mean to imply Peter couldn't make a better sounding mixer(just
at what price)--and I guess it seems most all modular mixers seem to be just
utility mixers anyway, and pretty average. And considering the cost... but I
guess without the preamps and EQ, it could be cleaner and cheaper... a lot
of headroom is always nice on the modular however, so I'm finding it better
to hit a Jensen transformer first.
best,
phil

Peter - I can understand an LFO being prioritized. I see absolutely no flaws in the 18 design and await it's release -

I have a feeling one of the 2 LFO will be uC based.
