You may be thinking of the 901A, the VCO controller.  Here's my
references:

In the 901-B VCO, Bob handled octave switching by changing the cap in
the integrator.  Go here:

It was the 901-A VCO Conttrller which had the switched resistors in
it's octave rotary, which I believe was recommended by Dave Lutz (sp?)
because precision resistors were easier to come by without matching.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
