Guys - I was running through the numbers this morning. Since October of 2004 when they began shipping, we've built over 350 Model 15's. There are presently only five here (four are in my own system). There was a rumor floating around that only 400 Buchla 200 modules of any type were ever made (I think this is a low number myself as I can account for more almost that many) but still, the sales stats of the Model 15 never cease to amaze me. Thanks to all of you for your support. - P

Woooohooooo!!! Félicitation Peter!!! At first I was like...mmm 350 units... mmmm that doesn't sound like much but thinking that it's all hand made in a less than 10 workers shop, then that's a big number!! Our perception is getting all distorted by the globalizing macro vision that our society pushes us to stick to...no place for the small and independants... Mass media, mass consumption quantity over quality... George Orwell was right!!!! so yeah anyway, keep on pushing good quality drugs..errr I mean : making cool modules ;P g. --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "(i think you can figure that out)" <peter@...> wrote: > > Guys - > > I was running through the numbers this morning. One can't get put back by relatively small numbers in this business. How many people are there into Eurorack modular? I mean people who own it. Given the Doepfer list has but 700 members, there are probably less than 1500 people in total. It's a small puddle we're in, gents and this is why the big boys (Yamaha, Roland, Korg, etc.) haven't jumped into the ring and thanks for that as it would put most of us down. Cynthia has sold over 100 Zero's...and she's ported them to every format imaginable. 300 of anything in a single format is huge. One must remember we don't build many of any module for the sake of building. If we did, we could have made over a thousand M15's in a year no problem. But nothing sits around our finished goods area for more than a week as we make them only to complete sales orders. These 300 are in the field. I know it seems lame to brag about, such a small number, but given the market it's a big big success. - P > --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "(i think you can figure that out)" > <peter@> wrote: > > > > Guys - > > > > I was running through the numbers this morning. hehehe Yeah! That's well said - P ! The big guys didn' jump in because it,s small but also because it's specificity is now out of their reach... Those big corporations haven't pull out decent product(xcept Korg) for creative musicians in year... too much aimed at mass market, they lost touch with the artists... on that I hope you won't stop the M15, I need a second one ;P g. --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "(i think you can figure that out)" <peter@...> wrote: > > One can't get put back by relatively small numbers in this business. > > How many people are there into Eurorack modular?
