Let me explain: If you fgo to the EAR site, click for a picture of the 24, then click on that picture once it loads, this may help with this post There are two boards to the 24. One hold the microp, the two VC LFOs which drive the microP pulse output engines and two VCAs which gate the digital noise (translated to the faceplate as 'Deviation". The five pots which are on onbe row on the faceplate are mounted to that board. The second board holds the two sample and holds, the smooth output VC slew, the two MEAN processing circuits and the output buffers for everything..and...the line of eight jacks found in the middle of the odule are mounted to the board. That's the only vehicle that holds that board in place - the jacks that you would want to replace. The rest of the panel controls, Chaos and Deviation VC Atten, the output jacks and the two LEDS are hard wired to the second board via strategically placed pads. Now, possibly, if you replaced those stranded wires going to that harwired row with rigid busswire, then, possibly, it would be enough of a structural support to allow the second board to sort of suspend itself...but i dont't think this would be a wise move to depend on alone, especially if you're planning on gigging. Drilling holes in the two boards to retrofit some PCB spacers is not an option...those boards are very densly populated with traces. - P >
