Gents - Another surprise, although not a biggie and no, this isn't the Evil Twin. But it is the Model 1 PPS - Protected Power Source. The M1 allows full protection to five Doepfer/Plan B style modules so they won't fry if plugged in backwards. It accepts a power input from either a Doepfer or ANALOGUE SYSTEMS Power cable. A photo of the bre board can be seen in either the Misc. folder inthe photo sectin of this yahoogroup, or by going here: http://www.ear-group.net/m1.jpg To use this you simply run a power cable from one of the outputs on a Doepfer or Analogue Systems power bus. So you loose one, but gain 5 - not such a bad deal. The M1 is fitted with both protection diodes, filter caps and components called 'resettble fuses' on both the = and - power rails. These are solid state devices which immediately open the connection between their leads when they sense higher than normal current flow. To reset them all you do is reconnect with the power cables oriented correctly. To make that easier, the words "RED BAND --->" are the largest on the board. The M1 has been fitted with four mounting holes to provide multiple mounting solutions within your A. Sys or Doepfer rack chassis. The boards arrived this morning, we will get to assemblilng these in the next couple of weeks but know that they are coming. Salvation has arrived! - P
