Well, the days of large large studio systems are gone. With the introduction of digital audio making multitracking so accessable, single voice complexity isn't what it needed to be back in the tape days. So yeah, three would be great. In a few months the Model 23 ASR will be here and you'll really appreciate having the three voices at that point. However, four should be considered if you're planning on putting together a bigger than six (row) system or if you do a lot of live performance. This would allow for double FM pairs, so you could get two voices of independant clang tones in real time.
