I have went as far as thinking of building one myself. The best part of the analog world is you don't need to be a programmer - you can build things! I found a schematic for the the serge one in an old Synapse magazine and the circuit doesn't seem too complicated. I have always wondered why somebody isn't making one already. I would love to have someone else build one. I would buy one for sure. The best design for me would be thinking of it as a combo between a sequencer and a manual controller. have 8 or 16 columns by 3 or 4 rows of pots and the pads to call up that column. Also allow a clock in to scan the columns in sequencer mode.
