Re: In the works - matrix

2008-09-01 by Tyler Harwood

Not trying to take away from anything Peter may have planned (or not),
I think this device merits a look for anyone interested in a matrix:
http://4mspedals.com/bendmatrix.php
I know it's kinda rude to post links to other other companies on a
Plan B oriented list, but hopefully this is viewed as inspirational/
informative and not a plug! A buddy of mine just got one of these and
it looks pretty amazing. The 4ms people have been developing it for a
good while.
Not a full blown synthi style matrix (which sounds like a nightmare to
hook up to a present day modular!), but the potential seems pretty
endless, and it's a step in a new technological direction I think
could be extremely useful. MIDI and any voltage (audio or CV -
anything!) can be routed and controlled and/or sequenced in all kinds
of crazy ways. Basically if you can plug it in you can make insane
stuff happen at 2 to 2000 BPM!?! Random/arpeggiated/"gloobed"(!?))
Imagine MIDI triggering an event and simultaneously sending it to one
of 8 outputs. BOING!

Haven't gotten one of these yet myself, but gotta mention that past
purchases of other cool stuff from the 4ms crew have been incredibly
great. They deserve the business!

Been saving moneys for the long awaited Milton (model 21) and digital
delay (model 27), so this matrix dingy is still elsewhere on the list.
HINT HINT! ; ^ )
