I don't know what you mean by mask. Plesae explain. The end of the stick terminates to a metal ball joint (see photo in recent announcement - this is the actual joystick we're using. We've gt over 150 of them just like this). There is no interference with the faceplate even when the stick is lying down as far as it can in any given direction. A matter of fact, these lay down quite a bit further than other sticks out there and nobody uses this type that I know of but us.
