There will be two 40-50 minutes sets with an intermission in between. Let me spend a second to give you all an overview. It's shaping into an interesting evening. There will be a minimum of six pieces performed and while I'm sure some improvisation will take place with those, none of the works are designed to be strictly improvisational. Each of the six pieces , one each by the six members of the ensemble, are premiers. We'll be opening with a piece by Gary Chang. The works are all being composed for and will be presented through a four-channel qud sound system. The instrumentation will be vast: Moog Voyagers, much Wiard, much Buchla, Serge, Aries, Arp, Doepfer, Analogue Systems, and of course much Plan B among the electric analog and some extrordinary acoustic instruments which were designed and will be played by Chas Smith. These include his Guitar-zilla and The Towers - e a series of eight massive titanium tuned percussion structures which are either bowed and struck by mallets. Go here for a picture: http://www.ear-group.net/towers.jpg There are images of some of Smith's other instruments: http://www.newmusicbox.org/40/images/chas_400x187.jpg Note: he makes these himself. A few days ago Paul Tzanetopoulos outlined his plans for the video work and it's amazing. Paul will be receiving camera feeds from each of us in realtime which will be the source material for the video sculptures which will be front-projected onto a massive rear screen with alternate images rear-projected onto a six 30 foot high scrims (light curtains) which will be hung behind us. The audience's experience will consist of a mixture of these images as the srims are translucent - you'll be able to see what's projected behind them as well as what's projected onto them. It's really intereting. You can see his concept drawing here: http://www.ear-group.net/al3.jpg Needless to say, we're very excited about this show. You can get more information on the event at the EAR homepage. - P --- In PLAN_B_analog_blog@yahoogroups.com, "gabu_004" <gabu_004@...> wrote: > > Question for you Peter: > > You, as one of the performers, How long will be the performance aproximately?
