Mellotronists

Anybody know of any sites or info on tron playing technique? I am
learning piano and I am using mellotron samples in FL Studio, smooth
chord changes seem to need a lot of interlacing of fingers. Any tips?

I live in New Zealnd pretty much a Tron free zone, although I think
Crowded House used one and possibly Bic Runga. I know I could ship one
here but I have no mechanical/electrical  skills whatsoever!
