Mellotronists

AD on Ummagumma was recorded live. Wright used a Farfisa Compact Duo on that
and all the other songs on disk one. You can see it on the picture with them
and all their gear. I also saw them live during their first American tour.
He used the Farfisa during that tour. He started using Hammonds on the Wish
You Were Here tour.

On the 8 minute Ummagumma live version there is an organ bit in the
middle that sounds like an Oboe with echo. (Very nice!) I always
thought that it was B3. (Does the Farfisa do Oboe?) Too bad the
PULSE version and the Abbey Road version are 4 minute quickies.
