Mellotronists

Perhaps because I'm glutton for bizarre musical punishments, I'm
writing an article on the Birotron -- a topic I've been looking into
on and off over the years -- but this time it's finally coming
together as a feature article for the June/July music issue of the
arts magazine The Believer. 

I also occasionally do pieces as the odd-books "literary detective"
for NPR, and it seems my choice of musical instruments to cover also
tends to be... er, odd.  (Last time, it was a piece on "19th century
rock bands.")

I've been in touch with Birotron-related folk at various times over
the years, but with the article coming up, I'd like to put out a
general call  -- if you've ever bought, built, or played a Birotron --
