Finding the Lucas numbers will take a bit of searching - the later
catalogues (1968/69 do not have application charts - you have search each
make model listing where all the Lucas parts are listed for that vehicle.

L572 was a Commer PB. L728 is listed as Wolseley 18/85 but L782 was
Hillman/Rootes . Are you sure the number is 728?

I have a photocopy of the pre 1971 manual published by Marcos Cars of
America. (the Bob Boston era)

Not too detailed but does have drawings for some brackets etc and some parts
references . It was designed to help you assemble your kit.
(wipers/door locks - yes the lock was MGB trunk)

It's about 25 pages. I just don't have time to do much Marcos related stuff
right now. If I send a copy to one person can you get it copied or scanned
for further distribution? Ideal solution would be Adobe Acrobat PDF format
for download ????

David,

I would be happy to assist in getting this manual in to PDF format
and posting it on the web for us all to use, I am however in the UK
so if of course you can find someone closer to you I guess that might
help, do get in touch with me if you would like me to help.

Regards

Ashley

2002-05-15 by Jeff Caraway

Hi David,
No, I'm not sure that the number was L728 on mine. That's what I thought
it was, but I'll have to verify that as I have had tons of stuff going
on and can hardly keep my head on straight! I'll double check tonight
and let you know tomorrow.

As far as the manual, I would LOVE to put it on the Maniac's site.
I'll contact you off list about it.

RE: [MarcosManiacs] Taillights... again....

2002-05-16 by McCubbin, David

Hi all

I am in process of pulling out the information on the early manual and
Smiths intstruments. While doing this I came across a page of data for the
V6 models which I believe I copied from the MOC magazine.

The information was compiled by Stan Gray, who used to work at the factory,
with assistance from Peter Roberts and Richard Phillips.

A couple of timely bits of info from this sheet

Door locks - MGB - slight modification required - (the early US manual says
TR6 also)
Early models used Austin A40 Farina door locks _the Farina is the later
series of A40

Door pulls - BMC 1100

Door handle exterior & boot lid - Commer Cob
Rear light assembly - early models - Vauxhall FB (I will look up the number,
if possible)
Rear light assembly - later cars - Hillman Hunter (I believe this is the
L782)
Front flashing indicator - A40, Morris Minor
