New Participant In Search of Marcos GT

New Participant In Search of Marcos GT

2002-05-02 by sveltebat

Hello. I'm a new participant from Mobile, Alabama.

I am searching for a Marcos GT. Any advice or assistance would be
appreciated. Some background information as to why I want a Marcos is
explained below.

Visited Stratford-On-Avon Factory in 1969 and was priviledged to take
first photographs of first proto-type steel-framed Marcos GT. I Was
politely informed that the new steel frame was secret and was asked
not to take any more. Lost them, and all of my factory visit photos
while living in Australia.

I Was taken for an exciting run around the hills (mountains to me) by
the sales manager of the factory and was so impressed with the way
that the Marcos went around curves I knew I had to have one.

Unexpected financial circumstances back home prevented me from
getting my dream car. Now, in my later years I want that wish to be
fulfilled.

I Prefer a 1969 version, left hand steering wheel, black, British
racing green, red or silver exterior; black interior. Can afford no
more than around $10,000.00 expenditure.

However, I also realize that so few of these cars were made and are
available, especially here in the U.S., I can't be too picky! Thanks
for reading and considering.

Welcome aboard!

In the "bookmarks" section you'll find some sites worth looking at.
Also on the Marcos Maniacs website. Pickins are kind of slim here in
the states, but occassionally one pops up. If you're willing to
import, Mark Saxby's site has a classified section.

Couple other folks are looking also. Good luck and stay tuned!
