"Unofficial" website update

"Unofficial" website update

2002-04-09 by mcaqmd

Hi all,

Just noticed Mark Saxby updated his site yesterday. Has a shot of
the four California cars that will be in British Car Magazine next
month on the "Car of the Month" page.

Also noted that there are a couple of Marcos teams racing in the
Grand-AM series here in the states. I'm 2 hours from Sears Point
International so I'll definately make the race and get some pics!

In Mark's Guestbook I saw a post from a guy in New Jersey who owns a
Marcos and is looking for parts, etc. I e-mailed him but no response
so far. Don't know if he's on the list or not.

Hi Don,

Thanks for bringing the update to the attention of the group.

Bad news, however...

Sears Point doesn't host a round of the Grand Am Series. The
sportscar race there (in May, I think) is for the ALMS and no Marcos
are currently entered in that series although Cor Euser is (has?)
built a Le Mans (and ALMS) legal LM600/Mantara which has yet to race.

I went over to Sears Point last year to watch a historic race
meeting - really good for me as I got to see loads of cars we never
see racing in the UK and it's a lovely circuit. I was mortified to
see that the ALMS race is early this year as I was hoping to combine
a visit to relatives with a visit to the race.

Cheers,

Mark
