Removing Center Seat Section

Removing Center Seat Section

2017-09-19 by mdchrist@...

Any insights on this? The top piece came right out, the bottom lifted right out, but the center piece feels like it is secured to the rear wall. I don't want to pull too hard and break either the seat of the rear wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

am not sure which piece you are working on, but if you remove the complete backrest (either 2 or 3 screws behind the headrest and 2 at the floor) you will find some split rivits that secure the lumbar and upper pads in place. just squeeze the spread of the rivits and remove.

I was able to get the complete backrest out, now just to get the piece off the backrest. There are small stress cracks around the plastic attachment points where it plugs in, so I'm loathe to exert too much force.
