Headers - 3.5 EFI - Marcos Mantula 1985

2013-11-26 by <tvrm2001@...>

The clearances are very tight so I was wondering if anyone has fitted headers on the 3.5 Rover motors in a Mantula? Right now the SS exhaust pipe is connected to the CI manifolds and the installation has the exhaust pipe crimped slightly to get the radius small enough to fit tight to the frame....

I am thinking about going to a custom fabrication but it will be expensive. I would also be considering an X pipe (if it will fit) and probably install the fittings for future O2 (Lamba) sensors for when the Lucus 4CU Flapper system dies and I install megasquirt...

Custom fab is the only way - my old Mantula had headers, and Martyn (the new owner) has documented his restoration with pictures - his whole blog makes for good reading, but specifically he has a engine bay picture here - http://www.marcosmantula.com/2011/05/problem-manifold-sorted.html and I'm sure he'd be able to provide you with more info if you message him on the blog.
And if you ever want to sell your Mantula.... I miss mine :(

Thanks... I am in the US so export would be expensive.... I do like the car....it is a beast and just stock ...makes me wonder what another 50 to 75 hp would do but with such low mileage don't really want to touch anything other than possibly the headers.
