VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

2001-11-20 by Mike Denman

Hi Maniacs
A couple of months ago I hinted that we were working on something new
for the Marcos car owners. Well, today I would like to announce the
new Marcos Maniacs Web site! This web site is going to "blow you
away". It is really neat and I am really excited about our latest
addition to the Marcos Maniacs. The address is
www.greyraven.tzo.com/MarcosManiacs. Jeff Caraway is the web site
designer and owner. (Jeff is also the designer and moderator for the
Marcos Maniacs Yahoo group site.) Jeff has worked hard and has done a
wonderful job of creating this new web site. For this web site to grow
and become better requires that each of us help by contributing
photos, articles, and (very important) information on our cars. We
also solicit your comments and feed back. We want this web page to
"work" for the Marcos Car owners. If it is missing something that you
think should have been included, let us know. I won't guarantee that
we will do everything that is suggested, but we will take into
consideration all of your comments. With the web site up and running
and the Yahoo group site, we really have two great venues for our
group. Jeff Caraway gets all the credit for both sites. Don Lattimer
and I helped define the site and did some general "brainstorming" with
Jeff. But Jeff did all the work and what a wonderful job he did. So,
let me be the first to say, Jeff, thank you very much for all your
hard work! I would like to thank Mark Saxby of "The Unofficial Marcos
Web Page". Mark has a wonderful web page of his own and allowed us to
copy some of his very valuable information for our web page. Also, I
would like to thank the Marcos Owner's Club, Club Marcos
International, Marcos Heritage Spares, Hayes Harris of Wire Wheel
Sports Cars, Paul Stephens Specialist Cars, Redline Sports Cars, and
all the members of the Marcos Maniacs for their help and
contributions.

Best regards,
Mike Denman

Re: VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

2001-11-20 by Don Lattimer

Maniacs,

I'll second that! Jeff has done an outstanding job on the site.
Thanks Jeff. Most of it done before he even had his Marcos!

As Mike suggests, please let Jeff know what you want. If you don't
have a picture of your car on the "chassis history" page, let's get
it there!

Mike and I have swapped all our articles, road tests, advertisements,
etc. and we are sorting those out for inclusion on the site also.

Once again, thanks Jeff!! Way cool!! (as my son would say!)

Jeff, Mike, Don . . .
Have just taken a quick tour of the site - great, fabulous! a really first-class site of which you should all be very proud.
Some suggestions:
 • How about a Canadian flag on the home page, to go with the US and British flags?
 • let's get Paul Dransfield entered on the chassis history page. He should send you a picture to go with his entry.
 • a short while ago, Dave Barton was looking for our car histories. Would it be possible for us to put them on (maybe click on an icon, or something) the chassis history page? Then you'd have all the info in one place.

RE: [MarcosManiacs] VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

2001-11-21 by Jeff Caraway

Hi Ron,

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to reply sooner. (Really busy at work!)

I’;ll be glad to add a Canadian Flag to the site. For some reason it didnR17;t occur to me, but it only makes sense as we have quite a few great Canadian members and since we are the North American club.

I’d love to get Paul’s car on the list if he would send me the info on his car. In fact, I hope that the chassis history will someday include every Marcos built!

Regarding car histories, I think this would be great to add as well. I attempted to make room for that in the chassis history list by allowing for multiple owners to be listed, but it still doesn’t give the full “flavor” of the history, so I’ll come up with something else that would allow for a more in-depth description.

Great suggestions! Thanks!

Please remember that this site is a work in progress, so suggestions like these will help shape it into a useful and enjoyable resource for all of us.

RE: [MarcosManiacs] VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hi guys,
I'd love to get a photo of my car on the chassis page and to that end, I'm going to ask one of my friends to either loan me his digital camera or get him to take some shots of the car so I can send one in. I also noticed that the 3 litre Volvo specs weren't listed. They're actually in the latest Torque magazine, which features a Car and Driver write-up on the 3 litre Volvo but, unfortunately, the reproduction of the specs isn't very legible, at least not in my copy. I happen to have an original copy of that Car and Driver issue at home, as well as other road test info, so I'll get the data to Jeff this week.

Hi Paul,

And to all Marcos Maniacs:

Please send me any info and pictures of your cars. I just filled in the Chassis history with what I had available, but I would really like to have everyone’s car showcased in the list.
