Marcos in France

2001-11-15 by reliant_fr@yahoo.fr

Hi everyone, I've just posted a new album with photos of a car was
just sale in aution in France this week, I miss it because it was too
expensive for me. The second is a Volvo 3L powered and the third is
my car, another well-know V6 essex powered car: a 72 Reliant Scimitar.

Francois,

Thanks for the pics. Is that price in US dollars?? That is the
first picture I've seen of a Marcos with the reverse lights in the
same place as mine.

Nice Reliant too! I just ordered some parts from the Scimitar
International. Good, quick service.

The dash on my 66 is just a walnut veneer ontop of plywood.

I agree!
Thanks to Francois for the pictures!
That is one interesting Marcos. I found it quite unusual to see the tan
interior/ burled dash in an early model like that. I thought Marcos only
did that latter on in life.
Anyone know if the 3 liter badge on the back is an add on, or Marcos
material?

Also, thanks for the pic of your Reliant. I had no idea what one looked
like.

Huh, just when I thought I knew a bit about Marcos.....

I guess each car is indeed a one-off, so to speak.

Re: Marcos in France

Hello,

I know the interior was originally black whithout wooden dashboard,
the car was painted in white in the 80's and probably, the owner
change interior too. In 98, the car go back to factory for a chassis
restoration and a new paint,(I saw the bill). I think the 3L badge on
the red one (Volvo)is not original.

The price (of DHK23G) was 108.538 French Francs = 10.195 GB Ponds =
14.616 USD

The Reliant is a 2 doors, 4 seater shooting brake like P1800s Volvo
or DB5 Aston Martin...

Regards

François
