I know I have been delinquient in passing along pictures of my car as
I am restoring it. So I posted one for the group this evening. It
shows my car right after I sprayed the first coat of primer on it.

If I can keep the scanner working and get to the next coat of paint I
will again try to post another picture. Winter is setting in on the
east coast so the temp is not good for painting so it looks like I
will have to do other restoration tasks. I still have a completion
time frame to have the mechanically assembled by this coming spring.

Hi Bob,
It looks great so far. You should edit the titles on the picture
so they reflect your name and chassis number... actually that would
be your cars chassis number to be more precise!

Bob,

Looks good! Are you still planning a trip to California the end of
October?? Let us Californians know so we can get to see you.

Hi Bob,
Great picture!
Looks like it is coming along well. I'll bet you can't wait until you
get it back on the road.

My turn for pictures!

2001-10-10 by Jeff Caraway

Hi All,
I finally put up some pictures of my baby. (Please see my folder in the
photo section)
I received her last Thursday and have grown quite attached already!
She is a 1984 Marcos GT with a 2.8 liter Ford Cologne engine and 4 speed
transmission.
She is also equipped with air conditioning, glass sunroof, tan leather
interior, and alloy wheels.
From what I have seen in most books, it looks like mine is a transition
model just before the V8 Mantula. In fact some of the Mantulas had the
same wheels, and black trim as my car does.
Unfortunately, she is sitting in the garage with the dash ripped out at
the moment. (Confounded windshield wiper motor!!!)

Ohhh Jeff... it's sooo beautiful! (You need to get used to those type
of comments) It looks nice and you will get the problems sorted out
soon enough. The cars are easy to work on although a little
cramped for space when working in some areas. Congratuations!

Jeff,

Very nice! Of course I'd seen some pics before but now it's yours.
Did the car come without the wipers working?? Could Hayes be of any
help? You've probably checked into that already but just thought I'd
ask.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I must say that a Marcos GT is WAY prettier in real life than in any
pictures I've seen thus far.
I am just blown away by the beauty of the body and the proportions. I am
VERY glad I decided to get one!!!

To answer your question Don:
Yes, Hayes and I are talking about the motor and he is being very
helpful!

To anyone interested in calculating the speedometer driven gear. Here is the
formula. You must know the tooth count of the drive gear (output shaft of
transmission)
also need the tire circumference in inches
and the axle ratio
First divide 63360 (a constant) by the tire circumference. This equals the
tire rev. per mile
Now here is the formula

Drive gear x axle ratio x tire rev. per mile = driven gear tooth count

I work at ATRA which is like an AMMCO tech center for independent
transmission shops.
This is the formula we use to help our auto transmission rebuilders around
the world.
