Welcome Larry!
We have a 1970 Volvo 3L located in West Virginia:
with an automatic but I don't think it has air. Your automatic is most likely a Borg Warner 35 which should be easy to get parts for.
Where are you located?
Glad you joined us!

I have owned #5536 3L Volvo sense 1971. Right now it
is in the proverbial barn with 12000 miles. I have
completely restored it twice and am looking for parts
to do it again. It has air and Automatic Transmission,
both have every seal leaking so I cant drive it.

Garry, I'm slowly working on reconstructing a '69 or '70 steel chassied car that still has the V-4 engine. It will be getting basically a Triumph TR8 driveline and will be converted to left-hand drive. I'm in need of a left-hand lower rear quarter behind the rear wheel. When I stripped the car, I discovered gallons of bondo and window screen sculpting the area. Also, does anyone have any leads on 1 or 2 original Marcos alloy rims? Likewise, I'm also looking for a pair of the rectangular headlights in servicable condition. Any leads are appreciated. I'm located in the Florida Keys. Is your shop in the north of Palm Beach County?
Thanks! - Donny Lang

Larry,
If you need parts I can probably help. We have a race shop in Jupiter
where we build and restore Chevron and Tiga Cars and where My '69 3 ltr will
go next week to be finished. Also I am off to the UK to buy some parts and
will be sending another E mail to see what people need. Since my partner
raced a Marcos for many years we also have the ability to make replacement
body parts. Also we are not that far from you if you would like tro visit.
If there is sufficient demand for parts I will ship a container and set up a
Marcos inventory in addition to that which we already have.

Donny,
The shop is in Jupiter so we are not that far away. I have a complete set of
original rims, powdercoated brilliant white. Also two rectangular headlights
but not in very good condition. As I said I am collecting peoples wish lists
so I can decide what to put in the container. On your rear section, do you
want to rebuild it or maybe cut it out and glass in a new section?

Re: [MarcosManiacs] Re: [Marcos]

2003-06-16 by Donny Lang

Gary,
I was looking to glass in a new section. I have already cut away most of the damaged area. Rory only will sell the whole quarter panel from the door jamb all the way around to the tail light panel, up to the rear window. I need a far smaller panel - possibly from the top of the rear wheel arch back to the rear corner. I was going to try to find another Marcos to make a mold to lay up a new piece, but if you already have that capability??? I'm very interested in the rims and lights. Also, I'm going to be in Juno Beach Thursday (19th) and would like to meet with you , if possible. Thanks - Donny

Donny,
I tihnk we can quite easily make a small mold from my shell as it is not
on the car at the moment. But it will not be in Florida until the middle of
next month as the trailer is tied up till then. At that time we could easily
make a mold and finish it off for you if you wish. We have just finished
reconstructing mine so we have a good base.If anyone else needs bodyparts!
Unfortunately I am off to the UK on the 17th and Roger leaves today for Mid
Ohio with two customer cars and will not be back till about the 25th. Can it
wait till then or better still until I get back July 7th?

Re: [MarcosManiacs] Re: [Marcos]

I could use a rear windscreen for my Marcos. It has a
plastic w/s in it now that has shrunk so that it does
not't fit anymore. I made a mold for the rear w/s and
had supplied several to a Bob Boston in Ga. He was the
importer for the kit car version in the early 80's.
The company that formed them for me went out of
business and I lost my mold. If you know where I could
buy or borrow a glass one I would re-tool for
polycarbonate screens to avoid the high cost of
shipping from the UK.

I rebuilt my car in 1971 as I bought it from an
insurance company that had totaled it after a right
side collision that bent the frame all the way to the
transmission. I made molds for a good part of the
right side and bought a R,H, door and window frame
from Jem Marsh in England. The hood (roof)and dash
assembly had to be re made. I haven't driven it sense
'87.

Larry,
We should be able to do something with my rear screen as my car is#5543 so
there should not be a difference. We have the facilities to make the mold in
Florida as we do that for the Chevrons. Maybe a trip to Jupiter would be a
good Idea.

Garry and Larry,
I have a new plastic rear window, as well as my original crazed one from my '69/'70 Marcos that may possibly work for a pattern. I am only a couple hours away and am willing to lend either or both to assist in making a mold. Neither is installed in the car at this time, and I will be in your area (Juno Beach) on Thursday.

I'll get together with Garry and let you know. The
glass window is better to make the mold as it is rigid
and holds it shape without a lot of reinforcing, but
the plastic will work.
Thanks
Larry
