I just returned from vacation and was catching up on the emails from the group. I was very sorry to hear about your accident Don, and offer you sincere condolences on the damage to your car and the headaches that follow something like that. I am glad the guy at least had insurance. I have been smacked 5 different times in Alaska (not in the Marcos) and only 2 out the 5 had insurance.
I also wanted to thank you for putting my Marcos on the home page for the web site this month, an honor indeed!!
I have an update on the electric fuel pump for you if you are still thinking about going that route. After installing the electric pump I had told you about earlier, I continued to experience the old vapor locking problems. I called a tech support guy at Weber and went over the problem and its symptoms with him. He told me the problem was still with delivery to the carb and not distribution from it. I gave him the details of the electric pump I had installed and he told me I would need a low pressure one like I used, but also a high volumn one as well which puts out 37gph. I bought one from Carbs Unlimited (800)994-CARB and so far have only had one vapor locking episode since installing it. The part number on this pump is 99009.131 and it cost $59.95 + freight. It is a bit noisy but quited down after I wrapped it with header heat wrap material.
Best of luck in getting your car back on the road as soon as possible with the least amount of trouble.
P.S. Where can I get a Marcos Maniacs T-Shirt??
Best Regards,
Rick Harding

Hi Group, Yeah, I have Marcos T-shirts although I have a very limited selection at this point. Here's the deal... basically I don't really make any money on the sale of t-shirts. Nada, Zip, Zero.... By the time I pay the silk screener and the postage to ship the shirts to everyone the amount of "profit" might pay for my gas to the post office and not much else. So, ordering T-shirts for "stock" (actually they sit in my closet) waiting for someone to want one makes no sense... it ties my money up in T-shirts that may or may not sell. So I usually only order those T-shirts that people have committed to buying. I may order a couple of extra in what ever size that I wear in order to lower the overall price if there is a price break that can be achieved by the additional shirts (the cost of these extra shirts comes out of my wallet). In the past, Hayes Harris at Wire Wheel Classic Cars has helped pay for the T-shirts in return for having his logo on the front left pocket area (the shirts have a large Marcos design on the back in "millions of colors"). Hayes usually has several Marcos cars for sale and has been very generous in supporting the Marcos club in the USA. He has, by all accounts, been very fair in the cars that he has sold members of the club. Some people think this is fine and others would rather have a shirt with the same Marcos design that is on the back also on the front (in a small size in the pocket area) as well. I don't know if Hayes is interested in participating in the T-shirts again or not. I will ask him. His participation lowers the overall cost of the shirts for only those people who order a shirt with the Wire Wheel Logo on the front which is only fair to Hayes. The reduction usually amounts to about $3.00 per shirt ordered, so Hayes's contribution is substantial. The total price of the shirts varies in relation to how many we order ie. the more we order the cheaper the shirt. In the past the price has been about $15 for a White T-shirt with the Marcos design on front and back and that includes shipping. The T-shirts with the Wire Wheel Logo on the front have been, as I said about $3.00 less or $12 total including shipping. I need to get from the members an idea of how many T-shirts that they might want so I can get a quote from the silk screener. You can assume, I think, that the price will be in the "neighborhood" of the previous pricing. So, if you are interested in getting a couple of T-shirts you need to email me in the next week the number of shirts you might want... not an actual commitment on your part, only an idea of your interest. In the past I have had some Polo shirts (with collars... they look a little nicer) made for myself. If you are interested in one of those please indicate that as well. The Polo shirts are more expensive than the T-shirts but I don't recall what I paid last time. Once I have the actual pricing I will post the pricing and the style of shirts available.. then I will need actual commitments before I order the shirts. I will post an ordering form that you can use to order you shirts and send to me with your check. Fair enough? So, at this time, I need you to email me how many T-shirts you might want. Delivery... I'm guessing that it will be before Thanksgiving. Mike Denman mikedenman@... Don Lattimer <donlattimer@...> wrote: Mike Denman has the shirts altho I don't know how many he has left. Subject: [MarcosManiacs] T-shirtsHi group,A number of you (a small number unfortunately) have sent me checks for t-shirts and a couple of you have sent me e-mails from overseas asking how to proceed to buy some t-shirts. The response has been so small that I am going to cancel the project and send the checks back unless there are more of you wanting t-shirts that haven't gotten around to sending me your order and checks. If you want a T-shirt and haven't sent me your check you need to do so NOW. Please e-mail me to let me know that you are mailing a check. At the end of this week I will either cancel the project (and send everyone's check back) or proceed to the next step. I really don't care either way. I have enough t-shirts for my own personal use and I really don't make any money on this project so it is really a "service" to the club. For the overseas buyers that have inquired...I have a Pay Pal account that I think I can use to sell you T-shirts and avoid all the exchanging of money hassle. If I decide to cancel the T-shirt project this year I will try again in the summer.Mike Denman
