AVO shocks help!

AVO shocks help!

2002-08-14 by Don Lattimer

Hi all,

I ordered shocks from AVO on July 10th. Nothing received yet. They won't
reply to emails and their phone is busy all night and day. Do any of you UK
folks reside near AVOUK??? They are located at Brackmills Industrial Estate
in Northhampton. Contact person is Nigel.

Because of the 8 hour time difference, I have trouble getting in touch with
them during working hours. Maybe someone could call for me and at least see
if they are still in business??

Their # is 01604 708101

Also, what do the numbers represent?? Counties or cities or what?? For
example my home phone is 707 456 0960. The 707 is the area code, the 456 is
the city code and the 0960 is my number.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi Don,

01604 is the area code, the rest is the number (although part of the
number does breakdown the area further, you can't easily tell how).

Do you have an order number? If so I'll call them for you tomorrow.

Just an obvious point, but you are dropping the 0 off 01604 when you
call, aren't you?

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,
May be obvious to you! No, I've been dialing the "0" also. Oops.........
Don't have an order #.
Did you get my email today regarding the Mantis XP visit??
For all the rest of you folks..........
I have tentatively set up a visit to San Ramon, CA in order for Mark Saxby (who's crossing the pond for a visit) and the San Francisco Bay Area owners to see and possibly drive the only Mantis XP ever made. It is owned by 4 sons ; of Roberta Morris. Chance of a lifetime!!! I'm sure we'll get pics, stories, etc. Dave Mcgill (UK) visited the car some years ago and has a website detailing his visit with pics, etc.
Regards,
Don Lattimer

RE: [MarcosManiacs] Re: AVO shocks help! Re Marcos XP

2002-08-17 by Dave McGill

Hi Don,
I am obviously very jealousy that Mark is able to make the trip not only to visit the Morris family and the Marcos XP. But also to meet up with all of you 'Marcos Maniacs' state side.
I sincerely hope the visit goes well, which I am sure that it will, Roberta and her family are sure to make you welcome, and will I am sure be only too pleased to see other Marcos cars.
Bearing in mind that they really only know the XP!! A case of the shoe really being on the other foot!!
If you have the chance amid the excitement of the day, please remember me to them, and pass on my best wishes.
I look forward to seeing the pictures..............and dreaming.
Regards and keep well,
Dave McGill

PS: I don't know how many Marcos's might make the trip but a picture of the XP flanked a couple of coupes would be great to see.

Re: AVO shocks help! Re Marcos XP

Dave,

I will certainly pass on your best wishes to the Morris'. I'm sure
they will be glad to hear you're still involved. The one son Ned
has seen your site about the XP and was impressed. Mrs. Morris is
not very computer savvy so she hasn't seen it but I will take my
laptop and show her.

Will definitley get pics!!
