Do I feel lucky...

Do I feel lucky...

2002-08-09 by Jan M Larsen

Hi all

New member in this little great "club"...

I have just arrived two weeks ago here in Denmark from a good travel
to UK and brought home a blue 1800 (ex. gentleman Stephen Minoprio's
#2 car), first registration was in '65 (produced late '64 or early '65?)

Needs some new paint some day and a lot of small things needs to be
fixed but else she's a pleasure to drive (but to get in and out with my
190cm... I am thinking about a quick release steering wheel)
She should have been racing now and then during the last 20 years or
maybe more. If anyone know some history I will be glad to hear...

In the beging I will keep the engine trim like it is, but later it
will be Weber, the rear de Dion type will get a limited slip and discs
(mostly for the adjusting) etc. for historic racing.
At the moment I am racing a little more heavier '65 Volvo 122S, so the
engine and gearbox is not new to me.

Thanks to those of you who have helped me with information leading to
my Marcos.

One of my friends is also looking for a '64-65 1800 so if someone
hear or see anything...

Wonder if there are more 1800's in Denmark?

Even my garage is full booked and I probably have to bike to work
now ( a little ironic), it feels good to have the Marcos in my
garage. We sure will have some great time together.

Do I feel lucky...

Hej Jan!

SV: [MarcosManiacs] Do I feel lucky...

2002-08-11 by Jan M Larsen

Hej Michael
Tak for din mail.

Hello Jac
Thanks for the warm welcome...
The restoration will be slow because of other projects but that's OK. for me.
I hope to get her registrated also for road use later this year, but time will show.
The more I learn the Marcos to know the more I like her, - like a wonderfull woman (also with good curves :)
Best regards

Jan,
I purchased one from Marcos Heritage Spares, www.marcoscar.com and it
looks great.
I have purchased everything from switches to a side window as well,
all came in good shape, and were shipped promptly, I recommend them.
this badge info from their site:
