Volvo 3 liter lower ratiator hose

Volvo 3 liter lower ratiator hose

2001-09-07 by markwoof92@aol.com

Hello;Fellows.
I am in search of the lower radiator hose for my 71 Marcos with a
Volvo 3L.I contacted Rory in the U.K. and he told me that this part
is not available and that I should go rummage around at the local
auto parts house for something that might fit .I have talked to the
local Volvo people and they told me much the same thing,so I was
hoping that one you have hit this same wall and could give me some
advice etc.Other wise my options are to get lucky at PartsRus,do some
sort of a splice job,use a flex hose or some kind of combination of
all of the above.
Any help here will be greatly appreciated!
Mark and his rotten will not last for long hose are waiting your help.

Hi Mark,
I'm not sure if the 6 cylinder Volvo used the same hose as the 4
cylinder Volvo but I found a hose at Pep Boys. I took my old hose
with me (which was made of two pieces with a piece of metal tubing in
the center, (an attempt by the previous owner to make a hose) and
found a suitable one piece replacement in a couple of minutes. I
asked the clerk if I could go through their hoses since my car wasn't
listed and he agreed. It was so easy I didn't bother writting down
the part #. The new hose fits better than the old hose and it isn't
rotten.

Hey Mark
On my Capri V6 conversion, I used a heavy duty radiator out of a racing MGB.
I found a hose at the local trac auto parts, which I cut in to 2 parts. One
for the upper hose and the other for the lower hose. By the way I finally
solved the overheat problem with a fan from a 735i BMW. I blows so hard, I
feel air out the hood vents.
