Hi Chris,
I don't think an Owners manual, or any manual, ever existed. One of
the British clubs has been promishing a Manual for years (don't hold
your breath) Don Lattimer (on this list) has a build manual for a 1971
I believe.... I'm not sure exactly what it has in it. The lack of a
Marcos manual isn't a huge problem. The cars are fairly straight
forward and fairly easy to work on. Since most of the various
components came from other cars you can obtain manuals for those cars
and compile a "Marcos Manual". So you would want, for example, a
Triumph GT6 manual for the front suspension, a Ford Cortina manual for
the rear suspension etc. In addition, there is a lot of information
available from various sources (like this one) that you can "tap"
into. With out promishing too much, I can say there are a couple of
us that are working on gathering a lot of the information that is
available and making it available to anyone who wants it. One of the
nice things about the internet is it allows owners of obscure cars to
become a "local" community to solve problems and talk cars. I think
Don Lattimer was right when he said (on this list) that owning the
Marcos has been the most fun he has ever had owning a sportscar. When
I drive mine I never fail to get a lot of positive compliments (some
shouted from moving cars with people hanging out windows!) Leave your
car and when you come back you can expect to see a crowd around it.
People of all sizes, shapes, colors and ages seem to like it. It
truely has universal appeal. Of course, you could spend 10 times as
much on a Porsche and be one of a hundred owners on your block and
never be noticed....
