Richard, Can you be more specific regarding the condition of the chassis. I've already got a '69 3000GT (#3-5366) that has issues with the wood that have kept me waiting to start on it, but it's going to be a major task. I'm thinking that if yours is in better condition, I might be able to at least get one on the road. Title is a little odd as it show 1967 as "Date first sold" and 1969 as *YR. Original buyer did have a fairly long wait to get it to the U.S. but I don't think it was two years. Here are the original "Barn find" pics. I also have a lot of detail pics taken after removing the Mazzzzda engine. Which views would you like? Interesting that your serial number is registered as a 1967, while mine - 5201 - is registered as a 1968. If you have any photos I'd be interested in viewing them. Mine is in the final stages of prep before paint and then re-installation of everything. I disassembled it over 30 years ago, so its about time to get it back on the road. A recent injury and the sour U.S. business climate have put me in a spot. In addition it's become clear that I cannot afford hired help for all the hours required to restore the Marcos. So I'm reluctantly putting my 1967 wood chassis 1600 GT No. 5159 and Series II Land-Rover up for sale since they are the furthest from completion of all my projects. In the end the intent is to only sell one or the other, whichever goes first. The Marcos is a very low mile LHD car in need of complete restoration. I have a copy of the original sales invoice. The wood chassis will need repair but I think it can be saved. Factory LHD so so excellent for the U.S or export to the continent. I've made some small progress in gathering proper parts while I've had it. Originally came to me with a horrid Mazzzda rotary engine conversion. I now have an unmolested U.S. spec Kent 711M engine, twin DCOE intake, and two T9 gearboxes for it. Also a freshly restored set of Libra style 13" x 5" Shelby American wheels. Car has very low mileage with only 32000 on the 140 MPH speedometer. Except for the prior engine swap the car is very original and complete. Original tail lamps, "Roll bar", interior with all lamps, etc. Two sets of front bumpers (One set is new), new headlamp covers and gaskets. It will need new front and rear screens. I never removed the suspension so it's easily made a roller with the addition of some tires. It's a complete project, but has a clear California title so can be shipped anywhere. If I'm to give up the car I will have no real use for the Kent engine or T9 boxes. Those parts were fairly expensive as they are hard to get here in the U.S. and shipping heavy items from the UK is too expensive. Final price will have to be negotiated depending on what goes with it. Everything I bought for it was expensive for me in ad dition to what I originally paid for the Marcos. $5,000 for all will almost let me break even, ignoring the devaluation of the dollars value due to inflation. I have a lot of pics I can send, they make it look worse that it is, been sitting since about 1972. PM or email sia@... Delete NOSPAM to email. I will respond with my phone number if desired.
