RE: [MarcosManiacs] New to the Group and Shopping

Chuck,

I also have a 1969 Marcos 1600GT # 5359 that I purchased in September of
1971. I drove it as an occasional driver for a period of time. When I moved
from Columbus to way up a Holler in N.E. Kentucky I stored it in the garage
in 1980.

She has the wood frame and a 1600cc-100hp- cross flow head engine with a
duel throat Webber. Chrome spokes w/ knock offs and a sun roof. She is in
close to original condition, I did retrofit her with electric cooling fan
and fuel pump.

The beautiful thing about my car besides the steering wheel being on the
proper side for the US driving is that she has only 27,702 miles on her.

The paint is crazed and I have been in a quandary for years over repainting
her before selling or just selling "as is". I would appreciate other "Marcos
Maniacs" comments on this dilemma.

Thanks,

Phil Traxler

Hey folks. I've been bitten by the Marcos bug and am looking for a GT or
similar for vintage racing. Anyone on this list racing their Marcos? So, it
doesn't have to have a great paint job, interior, etc. But I would like it
to be unadulterated. I'd love to find one of the Triumph-based engines as I
already know the Triumph TR6 and have a TR builder. Were those ever
exported to the USA? Otherwise a light-framed (wood) would be my prefence.
I'm located in Greenville, South Carolina. Any leads or advice is
appreciated.

Thanks,
