Steve, There is enough if you drill all the way through the fiberglass before you lnstall the helicoil or whatever repair you use. After doing the repair, thread the mounting bolt thru and layer some fiberglass over the back side to prevent water intrusion. I hope this is not too confusing. Taking a break from grinding and fiberglassing. On the body "A pillar", where door hinge bolts to body, broken bolt. Drilled and threaded, weak threads. Question, the threaded plate that the door hinge bolts too. Is there enough thickness to install a thread restoration device. Considering a threaded bushing, with positive location, so it does not move, like a "Keensert" or? Hinges, appears that the outer hinge to hinge pin (hence elongated wear), allows for door rotation, not the plastic bushings. Perhaps, install bronze flanged bushings with a new hinge pin might, be a better way or? Could be just making extra work? Thanks for the time and information. Steve V. Marcos in Arizona > > > > >
