The Alfa Club is hosting the Canada/US Alfa Romeo Convention this month and they are extending an invitation for owners and clubs of other car makes to join them for their Track Day at Toronto Motorsports Park on June 21st.
Below, you will find the invitation from Brian Crockatt and there is an attached pdf file of the brochure. It looks like a very affordable fun day where you can get some good seat time, maybe a little instruction or coaching and make some new friends. Why not contact Brian and reserve your spot for a fun day?
Subject: Invitation to other marques: 21-June-2012 @ TMP
Thursday, June 21st, 2012 is the date!!! This track day is an institutional part of the annual Alfa Romeo International/National Conventions. ... and we expect to have some very significant representatives of our marque, covering a great span of years: early-60's through to mid-90's. present for all events offered.
This year the Canadian Alfa Romeo Club is hosting the annual convention (that is more-usually held in the US - hence the International titling this year) - more can be found on the whole convention at www.alfacanadese.ca
We are most pleased to invite participants from other marque clubs, such as Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, BMW, MG, Fiat, Triumph, Austin-Healey, Datsun, Sunbeam, Riley, Morgan and others with great cars from our largest period-representation: to, say 1975.
Come all and lets enjoy the day!!! BMW 2002tii, Porsche 930 turbo, Ferrari Dino, Fiat 128, Mercedes Benz 280SL, MGB, Triumph Spitfire, Lotus Elan, Riley, Morgan, Austin-Healey, Datsun 240Z, Jaguar E type, VW Bug, Sunbeam Tiger, Saab Sonnet, and/or Volvo p1800... and on goes the list!!!
And, we also want to extend the same warm greetings and welcome to keen, same-minded drivers of other marques of significance that also date more through to the present - for example, I know the Miata Club has a host of very keen enthusiasts who love to drive their more-modern versions of the Lotus Elan inspiration for their creation.
And if I've missed any great marques - I send my apologies in advance as for a meet like this, "the more the merrier" - so please take no offence, rather come out and enjoy!!
In order to give good background to this invitation, I am including the original Article about this great Track Day as it appeared in the Alfa Owners' Magazine.
It lays out the general organization of the day's events. Further details will be sent to anyone interested in learning more - or booking their spot now.
Pricing for non-members of the Alfa Clubs is:
• $175.00 for Time Trials (TT);
• $175.00 for Advanced Driver Training (ADT);
• $40.00 for Parade Lapping at the noon-time;
• $17.00 for the Trackside Lunch.
The Trackside Lunch is the same price as for Alfa Club members.
The cost of the TT, ADT and Parade Lapping is the same as for Alfa Club members + $15.00 to cover the insurance coverage..
We hope to be joined by any and all like-minded drivers who want to enjoy a great day of auto-sports and the camaraderie of a multi-marque gathering (gladly hosted by the Alfa Romeo Clubs).
Oh, I should also mention that on the evening of 20-June, there is an evening Lapping Session at TMP, for any wanting as little 'advance' practice before our Track Day. This event is run by Toronto Motorsports Park and, if interested, should be booked directly with it
