I did buy another one that I need to convert to left hand drive, any idea who does conversions Rgds Dave Penny _____ From: Donny Lang <indigo@...> To: MarcosManiacs@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sun, April 24, 2011 9:58:17 PM Subject: Re: [MarcosManiacs] Oil pressure I have a 1980 Triumph TR8 that uses the same Rover 3.5 engine. My engine idles (850-900 rpm) at about 18 -20 psi hot, and runs at 35 to 45 psi hot, depending on rpm. The shop manual engine specs state oil pressure as 28 psi at 2000 rpm hot. It is easy to alter the oil pressure on these engines by shimming the bypass spring pressure on the oil pump, provided the journal clearances are within spec. This is done by adding a small washer on top[ of the spring. I shimmed my bypass spring to overcome centrifugal forces because I use a higher redline. This engine is based on the '61 to '63 Buick, and as such, runs reletively low factory oil pressure. -Donny ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Penny <mailto:davepenny13@...> To: marcosmaniacs@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, April 22, 2011 10:09 AM Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Oil pressure Can anybody let me know the oil pressure for an 86 mantula, 3;5 liter rover engine.
