Hi Maniacs, Two more photos in Mike Denman's Project album. In today's first photo titled "almost flat" shows the result of sanding down the previous resin/fiberglass build up. There are still a couple of low spots but it is getting a lot better. The second photo shows another layer of fiberglass that I applied just before leaving for home. You will notice that this layer covers almost the entire rear end upper section. I think I will probably have to apply two more layers after this layer of fiberglass. The next layer should allow me to get the rear panel absolutely flat. The last layer will be a finish layer to "tie everything together". Most of what I am putting on is getting sanded off between layers. The original panel was probably made with two layers of mat and too much resin. When I get through I will probably have the equivalent of 6 layers of glass (counting the glass I put on the inside) so I will have picked up some extra strength and some extra weight.
