Congratulations!!! I look forward to seeing the show and your car on TV.
I actually visited the Marcos factory at Stratford on Avon when I picked up my Mini Marcos. I had a friend that owned two Marcos Cars a 2 litre and a 3 litre both steel chassis and we would take the Mini and one of the others out together back in Hertfordshire, UK.
All the best,
Ray

Here is an email I received from Rick Harding in Alaska.
Congratulations Rick !!
Hello Fellow Marcos Maniacs,
A few weekends ago I entered my 1969 3 Liter V-6, Wooden Chassis
Marcos in
the Big Alaska Car Show down at the Park Strip with 286 cars in
attendance.
Well this year, Dennis Gage with "My Classic Car" from the Speed
Channel on
TV, brought his film crew up to Alaska to do a segment on 4 cars
from this
Alaska show. This was a huge thing for the Alaska specialty car
scene and as
it turns out, for Marcos' as well. Dennis is a BIG fan!!
When I pulled onto the park strip with my Marcos I heard a voice
yelling out
"STOP". I looked over and there was Dennis Gage running up to my car
with
his eyes as big as his handle bar mustache yelling, "A Marcos in
Alaska, I
can't believe it, where are you going to park, and you are going to
be my
first interview". He could barley catch his breath. Dennis travels
all over
world doing car shows and he had only seen 2 Marcos' up close and
one more
in a magazine. Dennis has always liked the unusual and rare stuff,
so went
absolutely nuts over the Marcos. He and his film crew did an hour of
filming
the car and interviewing me about it including where I found it, how
long I
had owned it, and what I had to do to it to get it to this
condition. We had
a great time for about an hour and a half talking cars, motorcycles,
and
fast boats.
Once he finished up with the Marcos and went on to shoot the other
choices
he had made, George Blumberg from Auto Week walked up to me and
asked if he
could also interview me for his magazine. What a day! Then during
the awards
ceremony, Dennis Gage voted my Marcos "Best Of Show" so I will have
a place
on the show trophy forever and next year's t-shits that they sell at
the car
show will have my Marcos on the front of it as well! This is the
first time
a sports car has ever won this show as it is all about street rods
and hot
rods. The folks that belong to the Midnight Sun Street Rod
Association, that
puts on this show, were a bit put off by my win which is good for
them! The
show on "My Classic Car" will air during their 2008 season which
begins in
February. I will send out another email to announce that date when I
receive
it from them.
With all the people that watch "My Classic Car", a bunch more of
them will
soon know what a Marcos is.
Take care,
Rick Harding
