Hi Ron,
I'm not being facetious when I suggest you lubricate the wiper shafts. I had
a similar problem on the rear hatch of my Nissan Pathfinder and lubricating
the shaft solved the problem, preferably with penetrating oil.
Regards,
Paul

Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Windshield Wipers
Maniacs . . .
That should be windscreen wipers, I guess. I only drive my Mantis on sunny
summer weekends, but a week ago, on the way home from a car show, I got
caught in a real deluge - rain coming down in buckets. And I discovered
that my windshield wipers are verrrry slowwww. Not surprising, perhaps, as
the motor and and all the under-dash stuff are original (35 years old), and
I can't remember the last time I had to use them.
So, my question is, what should I do to restore proper operation of my
windscreen wipers, so that when I get caught in another downpour, they will
perform as expected?
Thanks in advance.
