Hello The hot tip! I have been told about concerning just this problem, is to travel to a industrial welding shop and buy a welding blanket used to shield sparks and heat. It is made from fireproof woven cloth that can be cut up with scissors.-Then glue this to the underside of the tunnel. If this get wet, it does completely dry out and does not get saturated. It may eventually get soiled, depending on the amount of oil blow your car produces. Also you could wrap the exhaust system with header wrap tape performing the same measure-Remember to paint the pipes before covering. I think we are all fighting the inherent airflow going under the car gathering heat and then being forced into a narrowing transmission tunnel.
