Marcos Maniacs

Hello Marcos Maniacs,

I just wanted to give you all an update on the Mantis XP.  It is still
owned by my brothers and I, but it has been relocated to my brother
Ned's house in Chico, CA.  He's been spending time cleaning it up,
repainting the plywood and frame, and has re-installed harnesses and a
new windshield.  Maybe too much time according to his wife:)  He
recently took it to Thunder Hill raceway in Willows, CA to turn some
laps.  He said it ran great, although a little underpowered.  He says
he has been inquiring about getting a repco brabham v8 to put back in
the car but didn't think he'd have much luck.  We've reregistered it
with the DMV after quite a hassle (they're never quite sure what to
make of it), but it is again street legal with license plates "MANTIS
X".  I updated the Mantis XP photo album with some new pics of the car
on the racetrack at Thunder Hill.  Happy Holidays!
