Ash,

Thanks for the compliments. Looks as though you have
gone through many of the stages I have in the process
of getting your Marcos roadworthy. You also took a
lot of pictures that are great to go through. I also
use your Carcoon idea years ago to store my Austin
Healey. I would go through a process of putting down
heavy plastic on the carport floor, then a large piece
of 3/4" plywood then the car. I would then wrap the
car and seal all the edges then use the Kirby vacuum
cleaner to suck the air out. I would also put in 20
one pound bags of silica gel to control moisture. I
stored the Austin Healey in one of these bags for 3
years and it was clean and ready to go when I opened
the bag.

The Roll bar on my car is a strange item. My car is a
wood frame and the roll bar is only bolted to the wood
package tray. It does not inspire me a whole lot
although I have not yet needed to actually use it.
Maybe others in the group can speak to if it is
actually effective.

I also like your color choice; it does seem to be a
little lighter than mine. The actual color on my car
is a Ford Grabber Blue, which was popular in the late
'60s. I plan on trimming the car in black and using
the orange Gulf Oil pattern/scheme that was used on
the Porsche racecars of the '60s. I believe that on
the early cars the blue used was darker like my car
and the later versions used a light blue like yours.

Keep us posted on how your engine transplant works
out.

Bob
