Re: [MarcosManiacs] Digest Number 470

2003-07-02 by Maarten Krikken

It indeed seems to be difficult to get a real grip on what chassis numbers
were used in the early days at Marcos, plus it is perfectly possible that
some cars got a new identity later on in life.

As far as I know, they were still selling some Fastbacks when the 1800 was
launched, although the Fastbacks still retained a 30** number. On the other
hand there is more than one gullwing with a 30** number (normallt Fastback),
rather than the 20** number it should have. In one occasion it was assigned
because the orginal paperwork got lost and a fastback was crashed, so the
Gullwing lived the rest of its life under the identity of a later car.
