Hi Guys, I am new to the Marcos register even though I have owned my 3M5543 3LV6 for about 5 years. I am in the process of a complete restoration (5years into a one year project) and plan to race the car when it is finished. By way of background, I 'found' the car in a warehouse in Indianapolis where it had been sitting for 17 years untouched. It was absolutely complete with only 23,000 miles although it had been neglected and left outside for some time. The owner had recently died and his widow asked a friend to help diispose of the car. It just so happens that the friend was my race car mechanic and he asked me about the car as he knows I am a British car nut. Anyway I bought the car sight unseen and he took it to the race shop and later delivered it to me in Atlanta. We are now about 6 months from completing the project and the car will probably have its first outing at Sebring next March. Why should you care? Well I have done a lot of research on parts and can answer some of the questions that come up here. Also I travel to England on a regular basis and ship parts back for this and other cars. Maybe most importantly, my partner and I own Chevron-Tiga cars and we have a selection of old Marcos parts including body moulds. Roger Andreason (my partner) raced two Marcos cars in the early days and can probably make most of the mechanical parts which are hard to find. Having said all that, this correspondence has already answered a couple of questions for me so I hope I can return the favor. On alloy hubs. They are made by Canley Classics in England. I bought set and they fit just fine. Although I don't know for a fact, the ones sold by Dave Bean and PRI both look like the Canley ones. If enough people want a set I could arrange a bulk ship and save a ton on freight. They are 3.75 centers using GT6 bearings. The cost is 91 UK pounds each. They save 4lbs. of unsprung weight. I use Carrera shocks. They are made right here in Atlanta and they will spec them to your car. Weght, use, ride height etc. Enough of my rambleing. I plan to put the rebuild on the Web hopefully detailing the mistakes I make so others might avoid them. If anyone has any questions, especially related to performance, we can probably help so contact me through this group or directly at garrydiver@....
