The bonnet
hinge spigot in your photo is quite different from the arrangement on the
earlier cars. Mine is a '72 with similar chassis members but the bonnet
rotates on a pair of cylinders approximately 4" in diameter and 1 1/2"
wide which are bolted in place of the spigot shown in your photo. The
bonnet has a pair plywood support pieces with 4" holes that allow the bonnet to
rotate around the cylinders.
