I agree. Smiles per dollar in the Marcos is
hard to beat. The reaction when I tell folks the price is one of total
disbelief. Telling them it's a 1971 is also fun. They swear it's
80's or 90's. When I trailered it home from southern California, every
time I pulled off a a rest stop, 4 or 5 cars would follow me off and start the
questions.
There is nothing at all about the Marcos that is
elitist. You just have to be able to answer the questions: Is it a
kit car?, is that an Opel GT?, Looks like a Spitfire, etc,.etc.,
I can still dream
tho........................

You have no reason to dream if you already own a Marcos GT! True, the Ginetta is a sweet little car but its puffy and high stance even though it is quite peppy [it's a great step above a soap box derby down-hiller with the usual 1000 to 1500 lb weight)!
A much larger and heavier Ferrari is simply a near-rich man's dream and is really no more exotic than a Marcos GT.
I don't mean to throw salt on your future desires and dreams, mind you, but there really can be no greater an exotic car than the Marcos GT, especially if it is wood-framed!
If anyone has to reach further towards the skies beyond a Marcos GT I would suggest Inanna, goddess of heaven and earth. But, then again, that's another story.
