Svelte I'm a Marcos owner since 1975, my car is a 1971 with a metal frame ( one of the eleven build with the 2.5 TR6 engine). The car over the last 27 plus years has been great, but please understand I grew up on a farm working on ag equipment and cars. The cars are very simple machines because they were designed with a single focus (performance) and not much else. So if you love working on older cars and (have the tools, a place to do the work and keep it) the time/money. Go for it! The only other two points I would make are: One, that the Marcos owners that I have meet though the years have been a great group! You will find a lot of support and advice (from been their done that on their car) from the current owner group. You are already getting a lot of good feedback as case in point. Two, the metal frame cars car can look great because of the glass body but the condition of the frame is the big cost item, engine and other systems can be replace at reasonable expenditures, but a body off frame rebuild will cost more than the cost of most cars (check out the frame off efforts on the Marcos sites) and may not fit the average work space, so if you are buying a metal frame car, get the car up on a rack and spend some time looking it over (the joints and other wields are the first place to look. Best of luck with your future Marcos! However... To those of you that might not now actually own a 1969 to 1973 Marcos GT (but once did) you are eligible to participate in the current poll (That would include you, too, Ron)! I will, of course, need some means to verify such previous ownership. If not then, well, you would not really be in a position to give your open, honest and experienced opinion regarding a 1969 to 1973 Marcos GT, now would you?
