Dear Ron,

In your message dated 10/8/02 11:36:49 AM Central Daylight Time, you wrote
(in part and to which I will answer, one by one):

"I am concerned - it seems that you are trying to take a logical, rational
approach to Marcos ownership."

My answer: Yes, I am attempting to be very logical but only with regard to
being able to acquire and afford the car that I has been denied to me for 33
years, Ron. I'm attempting to acquire a car that I really am not supposed to
own but have yearned for ...

"Based on my 32 years owning a Marcos, I would suggest that this approach
will lead to disappointment and frustration."

My answer: Yes, you see, those are the number of years I would have been able
to have enjoyed my Marcos that you have had to enjoy and I was denied.

"If you acquire a Marcos, it should be because you want a car with
head-turning styling that draws a crowd every time you take it out, that is
an absolute blast to drive when everything is working right, and is an
ongoing challenge to your technical skills (and/or your wallet) to keep it
that way."

Answer: Exactly, that's why I've owned an MGA, an Austin Healey 3000 MKII and
now a Honda Civic del sol. But, again, I have to overcome the fear of going
into debt and the struggle to acquire my dream car.

"You buy a Marcos because of the huge, ear-to-ear grin you get every time you
encounter a twisting back road with no traffic for miles - as an early poster
on this board said: 'if your engine overheats, it's because you're driving
too slow'."

Answer: Again, I'm a sports car enthusiast. So what do you think about the
fact that I am contemplating buying a Marcos with RHD for use in the U.S.A.
as well as no air-conditioner and "incognito" at that, Ron?

"I do recommend that you use the logical, rational approach to choosing your
other car - the one you will need for mundane everyday trips to the shopping
mall on rainy days."

Answer: Ron, I'm not rich like you, obviously. I will have no other and will
have to sell my little del sol to afford the Marcos GT!

Thank You for your input, Ron and I do hope that you expressed your opinion
by participating in the poll.

With best regards,

Svelte
