Hi again guys, stupid question time! I am as you or may not know, converting my V4 car into a V6 car. This to me was a straight forward task! Anyway today finally after many years I finally managed to manually turn the V6 over by hand, it has been standing since 1985 so was a little bit difficult! (diesel left in th bores for a couple of weeks works wonders by the way guys should you ever need to do the same). Anyway while studying the engines side by side I noticed that the V4 mountings were off set, yet the V6 mountings appear to be in the same place on the chassis on both sides. So question, those of you with the Ford V6 could you please confirm the position of the engine mounts both on the chassis and if possible which bolt holes are used on the engine casting. Next question relates to the exhaust manifolds. I've read that to use the original V6 engine it was necessary to swop the manifolds over, now this implies that both manifolds are different. The ones ont the engine I have (from a Scimtar GTE) are both identical so swoping them over would have no effect! The actual position of the outlets is once again looking from above is symetrical and lies behind the engine moutings. I am not sure if anyone on this group has actually caried out the V4 to V6 swop if you have I would love to hear from you! Many thanks for all your help once again guys! Marcos motoring days are at last getting closer for me! Cheers Ashley #5504 www.molyneuxs.com for latest progress!
