Hi
Jack,
The
reverse happened to me, made the CMI rally, which for me was just a 20 minute
drive.
I
made this trip even though I found on the Friday evening prior to the weekend
that the drivers door hinge had broken. (Well it is 35 plus years
old).
Didn't mind the risk of a short drive to comb, but the
fear of see the door bounce down the road in front of me after breaking made me
stay home rather than risk Curborough!!
How
did the concourse go?
Cheers,
Dave,

Subject: [MarcosManiacs] Ups & DownsHello againAfter waiting 12 weeks to get an 'R' Cam and only three weeks to the CMI rally at Castle Combe, should I or should I not build my new/old engine YES!I just got it ready 2 days before the big day. Off I went with my wife along with me. OH! no a few miles from Bristol about 200miles travelled the head gasket went and we had to suffer the indignity of coming home on a Low Loader.Yes every thing was checked that you are going to ask. With the head of it was clear to me that the problem had been an inferior gasket, and passing it around more learned people the consensus was the same. With the MOC rally the following weekend a new gasket was fitted and off I went this time on a 150 mile journey. No problems at all, and the car was duly thrashed around the Curborough sprint track, a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and well worth the effort to meet up with other Marcos barmy people.Regards Jac
