Maching PCB's

Maching PCB's

2005-04-10 by willybbca

Hi Guys

I am new to the list and I am looking for some help. I have a small
CNC Milling machine that I would like to machine some PCB's on. I am
wondering what you guys are using for software to produce the
isolation and drilling files? What programs do you recommend? Also
what is the best cutting bit for removing the cooper from around the
traces? I have heard of cutters that are tapered (come to a sharpe
point at the end) and of coarse I am use to the square ended End
Mills
like for machining metal. Where can I purchase cutting bits for
machining PCB's? Not drills, but cutters to machine the isolaction
around the traces. I can find lots of places that handle the small
carbide drills but not the End Mills. Also interested an any other
help you might be able to give he on this procedure. I have done the
chemical route and would now like to try the machining method.
Thanks
very much for all your help.

Regards
Bill Blackburn

Here are two possibilities:

http://www.thinktink.com/stack/volumes/voli/store/routbits.htm

I haven't tried either, and I have no connection to either. I have
seen positive feedback for products from both sites.

Move to quarantaine
